Walls and doors- DIY tips

One thing that can be extremely time consuming for us is walls, and also a budget killer.

A few tips:

  1. Clean walls regularly, using spray and wipe and a micro fibre cloth, to keep finger marks off walls and also off doors, especially leading edges on doors & light switches.

  2. Use a steam cleaner- we use a karcher steam cleaner to do walls if they are bad enough which can save some time on walls as far as marks are concerned. Check out Harvey Norman or Bunnings, we use a SC2 deluxe steam cleaner.

Caution- Check your walls also for lifting paint or bubbled paint or fresh plastering, do not use steam cleaner if this is the case.

  1. Another tip is to wash hands regularly as dirt can built up over time, one thing we have noticed of late, is alot of finger marks around light switches and leading edges of doors, we believe it is from hand sanitizer and from not washing your hands first.

A side note: hand sanitizer doesn't work if your hands are dirty.

4. Hire a cleaner that fits your budget to come in once a month to run over your walls to keep them up to date.

The cleaner the house especially theses areas outlined will help us meet the quoted price and help you budget for the bond clean.
